How Do I Check My TDS Amount?
Step-by-Step Guide to Check TDS Using Form 26AS & AIS | FY 2024–25

If you’ve ever received salary, bank interest, rent, or professional payments in India, chances are TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) has been deducted from your income.
But how do you confirm how much TDS was deducted, and whether it’s been credited to your PAN?
✅ Here's how you can check your TDS amount quickly and accurately using official income tax tools.

✅ What Is TDS?
TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) is tax deducted by the payer (employer, bank, tenant, client, etc.) before paying you, and deposited with the Income Tax Department against your PAN.

🛠️ 3 Ways to Check Your TDS Amount:
🔹 1. Using the Income Tax Portal – Form 26AS

Form 26AS is a consolidated annual tax statement that shows all TDS deducted and deposited in your name.
📍 Steps to check:
1.    Visit: https://www.incometax.gov.in
2.    Log in with your PAN, password, and captcha
3.    Go to:
“e-File” > “Income Tax Returns” > “View Form 26AS”
4.    Click "Confirm" to proceed to TRACES
5.    Select Assessment Year (e.g., AY 2025–26 for FY 2024–25)
6.    View or download as HTML, text, or PDF
✅ What You’ll See:
•    TDS by an employer, banks, or others
•    TAN of the deductor
•    Amount paid & TDS deducted
•    Dates of deposit

🔹 2. Using AIS (Annual Information Statement)
AIS provides a comprehensive view of all income and TDS, including:
•    Salary
•    Interest
•    Rent
•    Securities transactions
📍 Steps to check AIS:
1.     Log in to: https://www.incometax.gov.in
2.    Go to “Services” > “Annual Information Statement (AIS)”
3.    Select FY 2024–25
4.    Click on the “AIS” tab to view or download
5.    You can also download the PDF or JSON version with OTP verification
💡 AIS is more detailed and includes taxpayer feedback options to report mismatches.

🔹 3. Through Form 16 or 16A (For Salary or Non-Salary Income)
•    Form 16 – Issued by employer (for salary TDS)
•    Form 16A – Issued by banks, companies, or clients (for interest, rent, fees)
These forms show:
•    Total income paid
•    TDS deducted and deposited
•    PAN and TAN details
•    Certificate of tax payment
