How a Power Cut Sparked a Fuel Revolution: The Story of Repos Energy
Imagine being stuck during a power cut — and getting a book delivered faster than you can get fuel for a generator.
This simple moment triggered a big idea for Aditi Bhosale Walunj and Chetan Walunj, a young couple from Pune.
In 2017, they asked a bold question:
If books can come to our doorstep, why can’t fuel?
Coming from different backgrounds — Aditi from forensics and Chetan from a family of petrol pump owners — they decided to build something India had never seen before: fuel delivery at your doorstep.
But the road wasn’t easy.
Fuel delivery outside petrol pumps was illegal. Many said it couldn’t be done.
Instead of giving up, they worked with the government for two years, finally launching the Repos Mobile Petrol Pump — a smart, GPS-tracked, IoT-enabled system that safely delivers diesel to industries, hospitals, and construction sites.
A major turning point came when they waited 13 hours outside Ratan Tata’s house just for a chance to meet him.
Not only did he listen — he invested, becoming a mentor and strong supporter of their dream.
Today, Repos Energy delivers over 30 crore liters of fuel every month and dreams even bigger, planning to bring electric energy delivery next.
Their story proves one thing:
🚛 When innovation meets perseverance, even the biggest barriers can be broken.
